It is fitting that the awards were presented at a special breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz—one of the premier tourist attractions of the area.

The Business Marketing Association of the Hudson Valley (BMA-HV) takes pleasure in honoring the second annual recipient of the BMA-HV Marketing Leadership Award— President of SUNY New Paltz, Steven G. Poskanzer. Mr. Poskanzer’s vision and dedication have influenced the reputation of SUNY New Paltz which, in turn, has led to the significant growth of business in our region and all facets of marketing. Mr. Poskanzer presented highlights of the 2007 SUNY New Paltz Economic Impact Study.

Guest Speaker Frank DeRaffele, Jr. Founder and President, ProActive Leadership Center, spoke about Self Branding and Networking. This session focused on the importance of selling oneself, of building trust over time so that clients and customers buy not only the product or service being offered, but more importantly, the unique individual who is standing behind it.
