Ted Clark
School of Business
Prof. Clark was an Invited Lecturer for the International Institute of Business at the University of Stockholm, Sweden, teaching courses in Sales Management, an invited lecturer at the University of New York in Prague, Czech Republic, an invited lecturer for CGI University in Hanover, Germany and has been a speaker for various professional associations.
Prior to starting his academic career, Professor Clark spent ten years in management positions with Equifax, Marine Midland Bank and the National Bank of Westchester. His corporate positions included sales manager, business development officer and Assistant Vice-President, Charge Card Division.
Prof. Clark has earned awards for teaching excellence at both SUNY New Paltz and at Marymount Manhattan College. In March 2000 he was selected as the Faculty Advisor of the year by the Student Association at New Paltz. In May of 2000 Professor Clark was awarded with The Distinguished Teacher Award by the New Paltz Alumni Association for his singular acomplishments as a New Paltz faculty member in leading students to knowledge, understanding and growth. In 2003 Professor Clark was named the Faculty Person of the Year by the Direct Marketing Foundation for furthering the knowledge of direct marketing in the academic community. He has been both a founder and an advisor to the SUNY New Paltz chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) a student organization that won an unprecedented number of awards at the national AMA conference held in New Orleans. Prof. Clark is also the recipient of the American Marketing Association's Hugh Wales Award for outstanding advisor. In addition to the AMA, he is a member of the American Management Association and the Eastern Academy of Management. Prof. Clark is also the Co-Director of the Business Institute at New Paltz.
Professor Clark's applied research interests are in the fields of consumer satisfaction and health care consumerism. He has conducted several market research studies through The Business Institute at the SUNY New Paltz School of Business for organizations such as Health Quest, Ulster Savings Bank, Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, Kingston Hospital, and the United Way of ORange County, among others. He supervised a quality-of-life study in Orange County for the Citizens Foundation of Orange County. Recently he supervised a marketing audit for Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union.
